I know that it’s detox month and I shouldn’t be having drinks like this but I wanted a little treat. I was trying to avoid the heavier caffeine drinks, so I landed on this, the perfect alternative. If you’re looking for a little treat, then check out the recipe I used below with a step by step guide on how to make it.
What you need:
1 cup (500ml) unsweetened almond milk
1 chai tea bags
1 tbsp maple syrup / honey (oops!)
a few drops of vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
How to make it:
You could probably do this in the microwave but I chose to do it in the saucepan.
1 / Warm the milk on a medium heat until it starts to simmer
2 / Then add the chai tea bad and leave to steep for approximately 5 mins
3 / Remove the tea bag and whisk in the spices, and taste
4 / Then slowly add in the vanilla extract
5 / Pop back over a low hear until it warms through again
6/ Serve with a few sprinkles of cinnamon on top or:
I saw this mentioned on a few recipes and thats to add the tea to a blender for 20/30 seconds to get it frothy. If you’re going to be making these more than once then I would recommend buying this small handheld milk frother !
