I’m doing another post which touches on inspiration this week. Last night before bed, I started listening to a podcast featuring Leandra Medine, who is someone I massively look up to. She said something along the lines of “At some point you can no longer be a version of yourself that’s not true or honest anymore. You start to feel lost and that there’s no footing underneath you”. She mentions how this feels like a physical manifestation of navigating your identity, and this is the moment where you start dressing more in line with who and what you are.
I love this because I feel like I’m at the beginning of discovering my own style. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll see that I’ve cut off around 3-4 inches of my hair, and my Instagram content has changed. I’ve been clearing out my wardrobe, selling items from my apartment and allowing myself to go through the process of shedding my old skin.
Another thing I read recently was in Garance Dore’s Book, Love , Style, Life. She talks about how you should edit your personal style. Note down things you feel and look good in, then you’ll eventually start noticing your own style developing.
